Our Mission

We are so glad that you have found our church. It would be our delight to help you get more connected as we grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ together. How can you grow with us?

BE UNITED TO CHRIST

The gospel (the good news about Jesus) is the only message that has the power to save a person's soul (Romans 1:16). We view this as our mission because Jesus told us that it was His mission. "For the Son of man came to seek and save the lost." (Luke 19:10) A person cannot grow in any of the ways listed below unless they receive salvation by hearing and believing the gospel. Paul summarizes the gospel succinctly this way in 1 Cor. 15:3-4, "Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures." Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins?

If you don't know the gospel, we would love to share it with you. At any time you can connect with our pastors and they would be delighted to explain the good news. Next time you are at Levittown Baptist Church, please ask us about the gospel and we will discuss it with you and give you a Bible and a free book that explains how God has provided a way of salvation. You can dive in right now by listening to this sermon which explains the gospel as it is presented from Genesis to Revelation

BE CONFORMED TO THE IMAGE OF CHRIST

After a person has experienced the transforming work of God's saving grace, then they can begin to grow. Romans 8:29 teaches us that God's purpose in saving us is that we would be "conformed to the image of His Son." This is a process called sanctification. The apostle Paul considered it the mission of the church to bring all believers to a point of spiritual maturity. "Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ." (Col. 1:28)

Romans 12:2 shows us that we must renew our minds in order to be transformed. This happens by being saturated with the Word of God. Everything we do at LBC is grounded in the teaching of the Scriptures. If you need help getting started in studying the Word, consider joining us in our Church Bible Reading Plan and daily Shepherding Notes

BE COMMITTED TO CHRIST'S BODY

We are called to seek the Lord as individuals. The church is also called to do this together as a body. The New Testament uses the phrase "one another" 100 times to show us how we can help one another follow Jesus. To name a few: "Love one another." (John 13:34) "Bear one another's burdens." (Galatians 6:2) "Encourage one another." (1 Timothy 5:11) "Be hospitable to one another." (1 Peter 4:9)

The Bible never entertains the concept of a Christian who is isolated from a local congregation. He designed us to work together as we link arms and march toward heaven. At LBC, we dedicate ourselves to function as a biblical community of saints who love one another in word and deed. It would be our joy to help you move toward church membership at Levittown Baptist Church.

BE A LIGHT TO THE WORLD

Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount that his disciples are to be the light of the world like a city on a hill. (Matt. 5:14) The final command of Christ to His disciples before ascending to the Father was, "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

Whether we go across the street or across the globe, we must take the good news about King Jesus to those who are without God and without hope in the world. LBC is dedicated to faithfully going and faithfully sending so that the name of Jesus might be lifted high by every nation, tribe, tongue, and neighborhood - including Levittown.
