Topic: Conflict Scripture: Acts 15:36-41

Paul and Barnabas divide due to competing visions of the right course of action.

1. I.Characters

Paul, Barnabas and John Mark


II. Conflict

Mark abandoned Paul at Pisidian Antioch. (Acts 13:13)

Barnbas and Paul disagreed about giving Mark a second chance.

Paul went one way with Silas. Barnabas went on another mission with Mark.


III. Conclusion

God providentially used the disagreement over Mark to spead the Gospel to different

places than would have happened otherwise.

Applications

1. You need to be a believer in Christ, for the following applications to apply to you.

2. Young person: look for opportunity for mission service.

3. Retired person: look for opportunity for mission service.

4. Working person: look for short term mission work through the church.

5. Send someone from the church as full time missionary.

6. Use your skiils, gifts to serve your church.

7. Choose your battles wisely, over matters of eternal importance.

8. Don't be a divisive person (Titus 10:11).

9. Don't follow divisive people.

10. Pray for christian leaders in apparent conflict.

12. Don't burn bridges with believers you have disagreement.

13. Dont give up when you fail. Paul asked for Mark to come to him. because he was useful to him.  (2 Timothy4:11)

Mark wrote the Gospel of Mark.
