Bein' Berean

December 25, 2022 Preacher: Caleb Bunch Series: Acts

Topic: Christmas Message, Bein' Bereans Scripture: Acts 17:10-15

Paul sent Timothy and Sirus into Berean to teach about Jesus.  The Jewish communitee there were more discerning and acceptable about the coming of the Lord, unlike other cities which Paul experienced opposition and personal danger in.

The Beriean community showed 7 good traits which all faithful followers should practice.

1) They listened corporately - They would participate in their church fellowship weekly and daily review what they heard and search the Bible to confirm it is stated in the word.  Christians need to be a part of a Christian community to support and grow together in the word and to withstand the opposition of the world view.

2) They listened eagerly - They were hungry to learn more about the word and what God wanted them to do.  Each Christian need this to grow in his faith.

3) They loved the Lord with their whole heart, soul and Mind. They searched the Gospel to grow.

4) They Listened critically - They validated through the word what was taught to confirm that it was true to the Word.  They discussed it in depth to make sure they would get it right.

5) They responded Humbly - They came in with an open heart to learn. and if they did not understand they humbly requested more understanding and not just to futher an agenda for themselves.

6) They responded studiously - They read the scritures Daily and studied what was preached and gained a further understanding of the Word.

7) Respond Submisssively - Once they studied and gained morel knowledge of the word and its meaning they would submissively transform their foudations and strenght of love towards the Loard!!!  They would note be pridefuly believing that they understood every thing in the bible.

hese action are what each Member of the Church should be doing daily to grow in their Lifelong walk with the Lord to prepare for life in eternity with the Lord.
