The Lord did extraordinary miracles through Paul in order to authenticate the message of the gospel and Paul as God's messenger.

1. The Healings - Acts 19:11-12

Descriptive not Proscriptive (not something to continue today) because:

- Paul's suffering - 2Corinthians 12:7-10 No healing here

- No Healing Cloth anywhere else.

- Extraordinary Miracles -  Rather God doing Extraordinary Miracles thru Paul

- Yes we should pray for physical healing, but not in the same way as here.

   James 5:14,15

2. The Exorcism - Acts 19:13-16

- The 7 sons of Sceva try exorcism "by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims"

- The demon didn't recognize their authority (they didn't have any!) v15

- Instead, the demon overpowered them so they fled from the house "naked and       wounded" v15 - 16

- Rejoice in yor salvation, not the exorcism (Luke 10:17-20)

- Christians cannot be demon posessed because Holy Spirit lives in us. Therefore, to free preach the Gospel to free people from evil spirits and their influence. (1 John 4:4)

- The Revival - Acts19:17-20

- Everyone in Ephesus knew of the "Sceva boys" fate.

- As a result many people were saved and gave up their evil practices. v19-20

- The word of the Lord increased and prevailed mightily.

- Application: Christians should remove from their lives anything that keeps them from following the Lord.
