Paul responded correctly to the gospel with hope, repentance, and faith. Each of these are gracious gifts from a loving God.

Responds with Hope

Paul stands firm on trial because of his hope in Gods promises. Wordly hope is more like wishful thinking, while Pauls hope is purely in Jesus Christ.

Responds In Repentance

Paul mentions his testimony and how God granted him the ability to make an 180 turn from his persecution of Christians and turned to spreading the Gospel to the unreached. Repentance is a grace/gift from Gods spirit and Acts 5:31 proves that. Acts 11:13 Explaisn how repentace is not only for the Jews but also for the gentiles if granted by God.

Responds in Faith
6. Phil 1:29

Paul displays that he has true faith in Christ by standing firm on God and his word before Aggripa. Faith works itself is out in everyday life and is constantly tested. Paul shoes his faith by rejecting  his previous life and resting in Christ. Philpians 1:29 tells us that faith is granted by God.

Grace

What made Paul be able to respond with hope and repentance and faith is because of the grace that God had bestowed upon him. God shows grace by intervening between your sinful heart and gves you hope and repentance and faith. It is all of Gods grace. What makes us different from everyone else is grace from God. John 1:16 tells us that from Gods fullnes we receive grace.
