He Died As He Lived
December 1, 2024 Preacher: Caleb Bunch Series: 1 Samuel
Topic: Repentance Scripture: 1 Samuel 31:1–13
Saul even in the face of death is still focused on his reputation. He died as he lived, a coward to death.
Application 1- Dont wait to repent
You may think you have time but you are not promised one more minute of your life. What makes you think your heart will get softer to God as you near death? Today is the day of Salvation, repent and believe in Christ because he is the only one that can save and change your heart of stone and turn it to a heart of flesh and acceptance of the LORD.
5 things about suicide
1. Suicide is a sin-selfish
2. Suicide is a sin that can be forgiven
3. True Christians will fight sin
4. Anyone who does this sin leaves behind their friends and family in tremendous pain.
5. There is hope and help found in Jesus Christ and there are always people of Christ willing to talk and bear your burden with you. You do not have to struggle alone.
Application 2
We have a good message of the Gospel
The philistines had a gospel and that was that Saul was dead, but our Gospel is way stronger and a better and hopeful message to the world, that your sins are forgiven because Jesus Christ has died on our behalf.
Application 3
Honor Him!
Do not let the actions and sins that you commit drag Gods name through the mud. Honor him in obedience and service to our Father and Savior.
A king is a king as long as he lives, and He lives forever. Long live our King!
