In today's message, we examine the early reign of King David and uncover how small compromises planted seeds that later produced devastating consequences. Though David was growing stronger politically, 2 Samuel 3 reveals a troubling shift as he adopts worldly standards, distorts God’s design for marriage, and pursues power through ungodly means.  These failures—especially in the area of marriage—set patterns that would later erupt in family division, sexual sin, and national turmoil.

The sermon highlights four key warnings from David’s life, while consistently pointing us to Jesus Christ as the greater and faithful King.  Where David compromised, Jesus obeyed perfectly.  Where David pursued power, Jesus embraced humility.  Where David bent God’s commands, Jesus fulfilled them completely.

Ultimately, this passage reminds us that every action plants a seed.  Worldliness, lust, and ambition apart from God may appear small, but they grow into destruction.  Yet the hope of the gospel shines brightly: though David failed, Christ remained faithful and offers righteousness to sinners by grace.
